Adobe’s Flash player for Windows 7 with use in Firefox

in How To, Windows 7

Adobe has yet to release a Flash Player that specifically says it is for Windows 7/Firefox in Windows 7. Just download their flash player that works with XP/Vista and select if you would like to to work with IE, or Firefox/Opera/Chrome. Installation is super-easy, just first make sure all your browser windows are closed and simply double click on the executable and it will launch and automatically install. So far with what flash chat’s and sites I’ve looked at, it appears to be running flawlessly. Please feel free to let me know if anyone run’s into any problems and I will see what I can do.

I’ve had quite a few questions from people who have had problems getting flash player to work with firefox 3.5. So far, the biggest problems were not downloading for the correct operating system. If your sure you downloaded the correct version (In the case of Windows 7, download the most recent flash player for vista) Make sure you’ve restarted firefox after the install and if your still having no luck, try uninstalling firefox and reinstalling it and then try installing the flash player. Let me know if this helps or not and we can take it from there.

Thanks for the reply Shaun. Well for some reason, it’s still not working. I installed flash 10, and uninstalled and reinstalled firefox. It works with chrome, opera, and internet explorer. For some reason, my computer seems to think that firefox is a 64 bit browser. I’m not sure what else to try.

Hey Shaun, just wanted to let you know that I fixed it. Strangest thing ever. I just cleared all my data and restarted firefox. Now it works like a charm!

Hey not a problem. Yeah, that is strange. I swear sometimes it’s just the simplest thing that can mess a normally smooth running function up. Probably something in the cache/temporary internet files that was causing a problem. Good to hear You got it fixed.
